Out and About

We are out and about in the neighbourhood daily, connecting with awesome individuals, community organisations, clubs and businesses in the spaces they Live, Learn, Work and Play.

Here’s a snapshot of August.

 

Youth development crew Raise Up participate in a nutrition-focused workshop run by Healthy Families Manukau, Manurewa – Papakura Coaches, Willie Iosia and Erin McCulloch. Local high school students assess their household food intake according to the four basic food groups.

 

Healthy Families Manukau, Manurewa-Papakura is a new collection point for the Food Together produce collective, a social enterprise that supplies wholesale fruit and vegetables at lower prices than traditional retail options. Tammy Potini collates insights from the first phase of research with south Auckland mums and well-child providers, looking at overall health and wellbeing for mothers with young children.

 

Papa Tom from the Cook Islands Development Agency (CIDANZ) in Mangere shows the Healthy Families Manukau, Manurewa-Papakura nutrition team around the organisation’s community garden. The initiative supports sustainable living, zero waste, gardening skills and fresh, healthy produce production for the community.
